• I have been a physician assistant fo 6+ years. Medicine has always been my first love, and I knew this was my career path when I was only 10 years old. I currently work in an urgent care, so I'm kind of the jack of all trades of healthcare. In my debut novel, my female main character is a shaman--her world's version of a healer. I had a great time researching natural medicinal remedies, and some old wives' tales as well. You'll find that all the medicinal remedies are accurate, not only to their world, but to ours. I even threw in the uses of ergot fungus.
• I have two young sons! They keep me pretty busy. Between them and work I'm only able to write at night after they've gone to bed, and sometimes during downtime in the office (don't tell my boss). My oldest is smarter than me and we're cultivating his interests in math, geography, and minecraft. My youngest is still a toddler, so we're cultivating our interests of please for the love of God, sleep through the night. He also likes Bluey and Peppa Pig.
• My husband and I have been together for almost a decade, and I would not be able to live the life I do without him. He stays home with the kids, and takes care of the house, laundry, shopping, etc. It's such a weight off my shoulders, and I appreciate him so, so much for it. He also helped me through PA school, and would be there for all the resulting panic attacks.

• I was born with a condition called Situs Inversus. Basically, all my organs are on the opposite side of where they should be. Everything works normally, I'm just backwards. 
• I love football and soccer. I grew up playing soccer, and I've been a coach and a ref at some point in my life. Currently, I just watch. Mostly the English Premier League (Come on you spurs!). Also, have set myself up for heartbreak year after year by rooting for the Miami Dolphins in the NFL. But, I did it to myself. I grew up in California, and decided as a child this was the team I would root for because I really like dolphins.
• I did ballroom dance competitively in college, and I was a Zumba instructor for a short period of time. One of my special skills is being able to listen to a song and tell you what dance it would be. Test me! (Crazy by Britney Spears is a samba)
• I can make candles! As everybody knows, all good fantasy characters have a scent associated with them. So at some point I will be making candles to represent my characters. More on that to follow. 
• I have 3 dogs (Penny, Isla, Jens) and 2 cats (Loki, Tobin)
• I was on an episode of Master Minds--a trivia game show on GSN (I didn't win...)
